"Something Strange and Sharp" Rug

High-lo pile 100% New Zealand wood. Inspired by Dario Argento’s 1975 Profundo Rosso,  an operatic thriller that frequently wanders into moments of disarming humanity. The gift of the giallo, a mid century Italian genre of exuberantly stylish - and gruesome - films, was in conjuring glamour from pulp. Profondo Rosso was brought to life from the remains of Cold Picnic's holiday excesses. In the early days of the new year, after the fever quiets down, they cut and tear away scraps from inside their waste bins to make collages. Most are given as cards throughout the year, but six of the compositions fit together like a puzzle. Or a giallo.
